Bill Hare1956-2008
"Bill Hare was a man who taught us of love and of goodness, by example"- JJ
Bill always had a smile for each of us and never seemed really successful at carrying a grudge very far
Maybe we should all stop and take the time now to study Bill's lessons, for who knows how much time we will be given Perhaps it's time now to heal old wounds to overlook insensitivities and misunderstandings and instead to seek out the kindness and love in each other
and in ourselves and remember that we are a strong family with opens hearts and minds
Scheckites, after all, should remember that "the sound and the fury"

but love means everything- Jill “My Uncle was swimming alone at the beach and got caught in a rip tide and drowned. He was 5 years older than I and I loved him like a brother! He follows his father, Henry Hare, his mother, Mildred Hare, and his sister, Sadie Hare in death.” - Sadie "Brother" Bill", like I told you many times, you're a combination of Santa Claus and a teddy bear....You and your kindness is missed by all of us. I'm glad to have been your friend and I'm certain we'll see each other again brother Bill.” - Joe D “Bill, we love you and miss you. We think of you every day.”- Delina and Celino “Bill filled the BOO air with magic bubbles”- Gala “Bill Hare was a gentle soul. His life rule seemed to be: Do No Harm. When I first was getting to know Bill, I asked what had happened to one of his hands, which was visibly scarred and twisted. He flushed, then explained that as a little boy, he and a neighbor had gone out one evening collecting frogs. When they finished collecting, both boys were sitting, checking out their frogs. The other little boy picked up a hammer and began killing his frogs. Bill was speechless and watched in horror (“They weren't MY frogs” he told me.) But when the neighbor boy ran out of his frogs and turned his hammer on Bill's frogs, without thinking, Bill put his hand out to protect HIS frogs. His hand was smashed and mangled. He said, “But those frogs were MY responsibility.” He was a gentle soul. Do No Harm.
Bill and I spent many long weekends at Vilano, at the Surf Side Park. We'd load up the yellow step truck and just go hang out. I didn't even fish back then. We just swam, body surfed, ate PB+J and woke up to the sounds, smells and sights of the beach.
I guess the peacefulness of that time may have led him to bypass Gainesville when he came back from Texas. I had pestered him for months to come back to Florida. When he did return, he moved straight to the coast, literally a block from Surf Side Park. He was happy at the beach. The kids and I visited his first place there. It was beautiful.
Little Sadie said Billy was a good swimmer. We both knew he had a habit of doing things by himself, like snokeling in the Ichetucknee, skinny-dipping at night on the beach, and even his hiking adventure across the mountains.Bill was a gentle soul. He never meant any harm. I have to believe he went peacefully and he is with God now. Maybe next time he will be born as Resor's little brother.” - Jennifer Oh, the story about Billy's fingers is a little off like memories usually are. I was there. The little boy was cutting off his frogs heads with an AXE! He went for Billys frogs with the axe to cut their heads off and Billy screamed NO and put his hand between the frogs and the axe and it cut off ALL OF BILLYS FINGERS (except for the thumb) right before my eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were cut off through the bone, they only remained attached by some skin.- Sadie Bill - Thanks for being my friend. Love you always,- Constance Saturday, Jill conducted a memorium for Bill at B008
