Post BOO1

A Scheckite Odyssey

This past year's reunion was great. Delicious foods, fabulous music, and wonderful company made for a most memorable BOO.

B001: Highlights

Bands

What a wonderful surprise with the music scene at BOO. We had a few newcomers to the scene and gladly welcomed back familiar favorites. Needless to say, all the bands were awesome and BOO hopes that all will return in the years to come.

Fast Lane Sleeper: an awesome band to kick off the reunion! They set the mood for the weekend. This band is the reformation of last year's Libido Brothers. It was great to see George back at BOO once again.Root Doctors: the Doctor's are in the house! Again giving BOOers their dose of bluesy rock. Thanks guys-we hope you'll refill our prescription again next year. Johnny B & the Bluescruisers: the first of the newcomers, introduced to BOO by Eddie Clark - long time BOO-er. Eddie proved himself good with this excellent topping to a blues evening. Thanks, guys, for the treat-hope to see you again at BOO. Trutones: a wonderful addition to the BOO family. It's been 3 years since BOO has had a day band. Their upbeat cover tunes were an of afternoon delight. XXL: a last minute band that donated some great music. Maybe they will decide to join us again next year. Oh yeah-hey Chris, get away from the food table. Folklorries: returning again and always welcome. All B00-ers are looking forward to their new CD. And warm welcomes to LeeAnn,& Lola-into the B00 family. dblWIDE: an awesome band-a definite crowd pleaser. Their original look and their unique sound combined with talented musicians created a fabulous BOO experience. It went great with my bottle of scotch! Come back next year-you guys are a hoot!!Speria: everyone was thrilled when they found out that Speria was appearing once again at BOO. An awesome experience of music-that electric violin rocks. The question on all the BOO-ladies lips was, "Is the singer single?"(side note: everyone was disappointed when it became known that Stonehouse would not be appearing. BOO missed the psychedelic flavor they added two years ago. We hope they will make it to B002.) Speria: everyone was thrilled when they found out that Speria was appearing once again at BOO. People

Without the people behind the scenes, B00 wouldn't happen. Without the people who attend, the BOO experience wouldn't happen either. Laser Greg & Phyllis: as always, Laser Greg was absolutely fabulous wowing BOO-ers year after year with his show. BOO is so happy about the inclusion of Phyllis' artistic talents that have been displayed on T-shirts, banners, and Staph/Band posses. Without these two people-BOO wouldn't be half of what it is today! We love you both. Thanks for making every BOO an experience to remember. AJ & Noval: the appearance of AJ,& Noval has been a much anticipated event. The campsite was all a-buzz when the tattoo van appeared. We appreciate the fact that Noval would bring their art for BOO-ers to adorn themselves with. Thanks guys-we hope that Phil (or should I say re-Phil) and Joey will also return to future B00s. Robert Burton: this year BOO was graced with the presence of an awesome artist. The first BOO totem pole was created this year by chainsaw artist Robert Burton. An extraordinary work of art that all BOO-ers got to admire and that was presented to property owner Jennifer. We hope that Robert will be present for future B00s. We really didn't mind the chainsaw-once we found out what was going on. Lee Pearson: the generous work done by one of the best cooks in the county, left BOO crew fat and happy. Once Lee took hold of the reins on the. food preparation, BOO knew they were being taken care of by a professional. So much food, so little time to eat. Thanks again Lee (and to her crew of talented cooks)-everything was delicious. Rob Cotton: Without this man, many trees would remain undecorated with the cool tree doodles. Without him the screens would not be hung and the trench for wiring would not be dug. An important behind-the-scenes guy that helps BOO run so well. See ya' next year, Robbie. Denny Belleshiem: this year Denny did his version of Survivor's Breakfast, which many were thankful for. He also donated some tasty homemade soup to crew food-it was delicious. Denny also received the long talked about and much anticipated tattoo from AJ. A must see for all BOO-ers. Boo will also be celebrating Denny's 60th b-day at B002.

events

Unfortunately, there were no large events going on at this past year's reunion. But there were a few small ones.Glow-in-the-dark Frisbee- the glow in the dark bracelets, brought by Laser Greg, combined with BOO kids Frisbees resulted in nighttime B00 fun. Watch out! Pumpkin Carving- a few excellent pumpkins decorated BOO this past year. Kids of all ages participated in the competition. Two favorites of BOOI were: the Headless Horseman, located at the stage, and the Vomiting Pumpkin Head (probably from too much BOO-shine) in Denny's campsite. Artists are still unknown. Foods:Cuisine: Arthur popped a most delectable treat into my mouth. Not that!! A perogy! It was melt in your mouth delicious. Drinks: there were a few tasty flavors at this past BOO. Jell-O shots- from that _guy in the tall hat. The fruity colored hand was a tasty treat. The mix was perfect! Wish I could have had a slice of the brain. Homemade Kailua- was upon the lips of a few BOO-ers. Yes, there were White Russians being had in the campsites. Made by Eric, a newcomer to the B00 scene, it was lip lickin'and ice suckin'perfect. Thanks for sharing! B00shine- I'm not sure who made it but Lee shared it with me. A wonderfully warming shot of B00shine. A large shot had-the warmth started at my head and slowly crept down my body to the toes. No grimace or chaser needed! Desserts: introduced this year, by new entry Mike Boiley, was a wonderful twist to an old campsite favorite. Mike brought toasted coconut covered marshmallows and roasted them over the fire. It gave a childhood favorite a sophisticated taste for us "young" grownups. B00 treats- as far as the BOO brownie bake-off, there was only one winner from the very beginning. This year the reining BOO brownie Queen made two wonderful versions-. Downtown Browns- a double batch containing ½ of organic ingredients. Covered with blue cream cheese icing. Cut into small potent pieces. Lemon Valiums- a single batch with ¼ of hydroponic organic ingredients. Iced with blue lemon icing. A nice twist with nutty brownies.
Long live the Queen!Congrads Michelle!

BOO1: Conclusion

This past year's reunion we were able to offer T-shirts at cost. Provide enough food for crew and bands. Have port-a-lets and a dumpster available. Have a children's outhouse built and a community shower available. Got the bands drunk, fixed broken equipment, and paid for the electricity used. Garbage clean up was great. Fire safety was in high order and many a BOOer came to the call of BOO security. Thanks to everyone for making this a most wonderful BOO!
It seems to be getting better every year, doesn't it!
